Reflection: ISLAM IN THE EYES OF THE WEST

After reading “ISLAM IN THE EYES OF THE WEST”, it is undeniable to say that no other religion is viewed as harshly as Islam is viewed in the West. Many anti-Islam stereotypes arose in the West, leading to a negative uniform point of view of this religion. Because Christianity was a popular religion in Europe and America, many people had negative stereotypical approaches towards Islam and Muslim people. A lot of Christians did not agree with Islamic beliefs because they believed Prophet Muhammad did not meet Jesus’ level of high status. Jesus believed in engaging in a non-violent matter and was celibate while Prophet Muhammad fought in war and married multiple women. Muslims thought it was important to have a perfect ideal model who portrayed the way true life should be “lived.” Overall, I feel like Muslims should not get any hate for their personal beliefs and it is truly a shame that the West has so many stereotypes and negative perspectives upon people they don’t even know.
